Design Document

This is my work for creating my design document and as I want to take my time in making it look nice, I think I should document my work process to prove how much time I have taken to do it.

I knew I wanted to have a document that looked girly, and princess like so I looked up some girly curls and frames:

I also was very interested in some of the barbie film designs:

And so I started to look into my document look.
These are some fonts I looked at:

Brushes:

These are some quick links I had to note down for myself.

My document has taken my forms and shapes starting off looking a little like barbie in the nutcracker:

Mine started off looking like this:

However I felt is wasn't polished enough so I set off in a different direction.
Which is when I came across this, I liked that is was quite stylish yet still seemed girly and princess themed to me:
FidgetResources (2009) Art Nouveau Brushes Brush Pattern Available at <http://www.brushpattern.com/index.php?controller=brushes&action=brush&id=86> Accessed 12th November 2012

Which I then tried to replicate:

With this I found I didn't, firstly like that it was portrait as my project is an environment piece I figured a landscape design document would be more effective. And secondly this was too grown-up for my liking as I am creating a child's scene.
And so again I set off to find more inspiration.
I knew I wanted it to look princess like, so I looked at barbie, princess and the pauper:
Rosepixie (2009) Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper: Thoughts. Katies Book Blog Available at <http://www.pixiepalace.com/bookblog/2009/01/29/barbie-as-the-princess-and-the-pauper-thoughts/> Accessed 12th November 2012

This had strong frames and curly fonts with easy prints or stickers of butterflies and such, and so I decided to try this out, and after some time came out with something looking like this:

Though I still felt this wasn't right, looking a little cheap and unfinished, so I took what I liked in this. Being the bold names and a lot of the sparkles and the crown stamp.
I enhanced all of these, added more sparkle and shine and came up with a design:

Now I knew I was getting on track and I loved this new design, but again felt it needed more tweaking. SO adding even more shine and sparkle, some stars and a better ribbon. I finally came up with my idea:

This I am extremely happy with, and shall be my theme throughout the rest of the document, which is something I need to create next.
